Building projects are exciting, sometimes life-changing investments, but often people don’t anticipate the huge time investment that they demand. From planning permission to doorknobs, there are a whole raft of details involved in every project. After several years in the property industry and managing various personal property projects, we founded Mae House Design to support people taking on projects of their own homes.

We help people through projects of all sizes, from full house refurbishments to a single stand-out one room. We can help clients through any stage of the process, whether they need support organising council planning submissions, construction drawings and tender preparations right at the beginning, or towards the end when all the heavy lifting has been done and the rooms are ready for dressing and decoration. Our expertise is in spatial design, helping people make the most of the space they have in their homes and ensuring all household needs are met.

Having worked in the industry for many years, we know the best places to source for any budget – plus a fair few tips and tricks for eBay and finding hidden treasures. On top of that, we have a wealth of contacts from boutique suppliers, who can often offer trade discounts.

Creating thoughtful and lovable spaces is our passion. If you’re looking for support for an upcoming project, we’d love to help you get the best from your home.

Putri pursued interior design informally for friends and family for years before formal training at London's prestigious Chelsea College of Arts. With over 7 years in the construction industry, managing high end residential projects, she has a good understanding of the entire build process, bringing a very hands on approach from conception to completion.

JO Dyson

Jo is a serial property renovator, relishing the challenge of taking a tired, lack-lustre property and realising its potential. Jo is also a guest presenter for The London Homebuilding & Renovating Show as well a regular editorial contributor to various property related publications.

We went to the Homebuilding and Renovating show at London Excel and saw Jo’s presentation on home renovations. We then booked a 15 minute ‘ask the expert’ slot with Jo and talked through our plans and our vision for our home. We’d had plans for over a decade to make changes to the layout of the downstairs of our home, but didn’t know where to start. Thanks to Jo, who inspired a confidence in me and helped me see how our project could be broken down into clear steps. Jo also introduced us to Ben from who, along with his team, did a wonderful job of the building works. But for our fateful meeting back at that show I’m not sure we’d be where we are now, which is a lot happier.
